PULASKI (WAOW) -- Pulaski Fire Chief Frank Wichlacz has been killed in an accident at the Pulaski Tri-County Fire Department early Wednesday morning.
Investigators say firefighters were putting equipment away after an early morning call when one of the men moved a personal vehicle that was blocking a garage door.
As he moved the vehicle, he lost control and slammed into the garage door.
Investigators say Chief Wichlacz was pinned between the door and a fire truck.
It is unknown at this time whether it was a mechanical or human error; the name of the man driving the vehicle has not been released.
Wichlacz was a member of the volunteer fire department for more than 50 years and has been Chief for more than 20.
