GREEN BAY (WAOW) -- Fans chanted, "WE WANT BRETT, WE WANT BRETT" signs read, "BRING BACK BRETT." The chants and signs said it all as fans waited and waited for #4 to run out on the field.

"I was there at the airport when he came in and his smile off the plane and the reaction of the crowd. He deserves to be back here if it's one year or two year whatever, we want him back, we love him," says Packer fan Todd Ferris.

"We actually came up from the suburbs of Chicago. It was about 3 1/2 hours we thought we were going to see Brett, but it didn't go our way," says William Bergquist.

And after 2 and half hours of practice there was still no sign of Favre.

Bergquist says, "It's pretty disappointing. He's my hero. I've watched him my entire life growing up and now I don't get to see him. He wants to play, but we won't take him back. It's just kind of frustrating and disappointing."

While trade rumors continued to circulate the Don Hudson Center, fans tried to grasp the concept of seeing Favre play for another team.

Packer fan Pat Crittendon says, "I fell like I'm his mother and I'm losing a son if he goes somewhere else."

Bergquist added, "It would be heartbreaking. It would be very hard to see him play for another team"

Coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday he won't talk about a trade. But rumors put Tampa Bay and Minnesota at the top of the list when it comes to those interested in Favre.

Vikings fan Joe Woldt says he'd love to see the star QB in purple and gold. "I respected him for what he does. He's a 3-time MVP. You can't pass up a pro-bowl quarterback. We'll take him."

But no matter what happens, fans say if Favre leaves, they'll cheer for him wherever he goes.

Bergquist says, "I'd be a big fan of whatever team he went to."

"I will follow him wherever he goes," says Crittendon.
