MERRILL (WAOW)--This week's winner is the entire Trinity Lutheran School in Merrill.
The students take part in a number of outreach projects. Recently, all the students participated in Cows for Kenya.
Each month the school uses it's collections to help others.
Everything ranging from..flood relief...to food pantry donations.
In October...they raised enough money to buy a cow for a community in Kenya, which will not only provide fresh milk, but also income and jobs for those affiliated with the milk and milk product sales.
Dave Beringer, the principal of Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School, gave a presentation to all the students about his mission trips to Africa.
In addition to these outreach programs, the students also rake leaves for senior citizens, sing at nursing homes, and participate in Jump Rope for Heart.
Jeannie and I had the opportunity to visit the students yesterday..and recognize them for their amazing efforts.
They had great questions for us and we had so much fun meeting them.
Just another fantastic example of what a big difference students and faculty can make locally, and around the world.
This school is a perfect example of what class of the week is all about.
If you would like your school to be on Wake Up Wisconsin be sure to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with all your nominations.
