RECIN makes immunization records available to health care providers with the goal of seeing that all children receive the proper vaccinations on time.
The program, which includes many school districts, helps health care officials and parents stay informed and current on this important step in preventing many childhood illnesses.
Information on the RECIN database alerts health care providers to complete and current immunization data, facilitates the analysis of immunization trends, and supports intervention activities to improve vaccine coverage.
RECIN covers a 23-county service area approximately the size of West Virginia, with a total population of approximately 1.3 million residents. Many of the counties are classified as health profession shortage areas or medically underserved areas or both.
