WAKE UP WISCONSIN (WAOW)--This week's winners are the students at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School.

Every year the entire school has Teens Against Disease Week, the classes compete against each other to raise money for charities.

This year the students raised a record amount of money.

They raised a total of $5,800  for the March of Dimes, the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The Senior Class raised the most with just over $1,900.

Last year the students raised $4,000.

The students participated in a lot of different activities in order to collect donations.

They held a pancake dinner, a spaghetti dinner, a movie night, a dance contest, and even had an egg role sale.

The student council also held a pie-in-the-face contest that pulled in $625.

The students want to thank the community and faculty for attending and supporting their sponsored events.

We had a chance to visit the students yesterday, we had a blast.

They were one of the most enthusiastic group of kids we've ever talked to.

We're blown away by their dedication and accomplishments with this project.

If you would like your school to be on Wake Up Wisconsin be sure to email us at with all your nominations.

Every Friday at 6:30 on Wakeup, we recognize a different school for their accomplishments.
