All this week I have been discussing the change toward a more winter-like weather pattern. Not only will temperatures be cooling down a bit, we have more storminess in the forecast. The first storm of the week hit the area yesterday and dropped 1 to 2 inches of snow. Today we will have a break in the action with mostly cloudy skies and a dusting of snow in the northwoods and partly cloudy skies developing around Marathon county and further south. Temps will remain above normal with high temps reaching the low 30s in the northwoods and the upper 30s to around 40 in the far south.
The second storm of the week will be moving through the state on Thursday but this one will not...

A few snow showers in the northwoods, becoming partly cloudy in the south.
Cloudy with a 50% chance of light snow, mainly south of Wood and Portage counties where a couple inches is possible.
Mostly cloudy with scattered light snow showers.
Partly cloudy and cool.
Breezy with snow likely, significant accumulations possible in the evening and overnight. Snow might mix with sleet in the southern part of the area.
Heavy snow likely in the northwoods, a mix of sleet and snow in the south.
