Stevens Point YMCA takes part in nationwide challenge

STEVENS POINT, WI (WAOW)-- This year October 18th is the new ‘I’ll start Monday’.

The Stevens Point YMCA, in partnership with YMCAs nationwide kickstarted a new challenge to help you attain fitness goals, gain mental clarity, and improve spiritual health.

The challenge is 30 days - ends November 18th - and comes with a nationwide network of support from challengers – or teammates - as well as a local support group on Facebook.

Andrew Moloski is the Head Personal Trainer at SPYMCA and overall coordinating the challenge locally. He says the Facebook group already has 15,000 members as of Wednesday and is only getting stronger.

The basis of the challenge is 150 minutes of physical movement per week – that’s roughly 20 minutes a week. Participants will also receive three text messages per week with a new challenge for each pillar. According to stronglife.org, Mondays are for physical health, Wednesdays will feature a mental health challenge, and Friday you will tackle spiritual wellness.

There are no ‘weigh ins’. Just internal and external results measured by you.

Join the challenge by texting the word ‘STRONG’ to 844-889-6222. Visit Strong Challenge – YMCA Strong Life for more information.
