Grebes celebrates 75 years

WAUSAU,WI (WAOW)-- Local family-owned and operated appliance and more store - Grebe’s – celebrated 75 years in the community in October.

The store started as a small farm tractor shop for local farmers and gradually expanded to hardware, outdoor everyday machinery and even home décor. This month they are featuring specialty classes every weekend. This Saturday is Zwelling Fest – a specialty knife skills class. In addition to their traditional fall cooking classes.

From age 12, Roger Grebe watched his father build the business and started managing the sporting goods department at age 14. Grebe considered branching to other locations but felt their connection to the Wausau community has grown too genuine to leave.

Grebe’s continues to operate out of the original 1946 location and expands the infrastructure as they diversify their inventory.

Roger Grebe said he handles much of the corporate work as his sons run and operate the store.

Happy 75th to Grebe’s and their wonderful family legacy
