BREAKING: Fire crews respond to house fire in Stevens Point

A fire broke out at a home on 4th Ave. in Stevens Point late Thursday night.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WAOW) -- A house fire in Stevens Point leaves three people displaced. 

The Stevens Point Fire Dept. was dispatched Thursday night at 9:12 p.m. to 217 4th Ave. in Stevens Point for reports of smoke and flames on the second floor. 

Three residents were in the house at the time of the fire, no injuries were reported.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire was "electrical in nature."

"Initially when the shift commander arrived, he saw smoke coming from the eaves, Engine 1 did an offensive attack went to the second floor of the residence," J.b. Moody, Assistant Chief of the Stevens Point Fire Department said. "Where they actually found smoke and flames and were able to initially attack the fire."

Firefighters on the scene reported flames up to five feet high and complete damage to the top floor of the house.

Fire crews from Stevens Point, Plover, Hale, Park Ridge and Rudolph were dispatched to the scene.
