WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) -- The city of Wausau's finance committee met Thursday night to discuss the projections for next year's budget.
The goal of the meeting was not to determine is what is or what is not part of the budget, but to get the process started.
Potential infrastructure projects include fencing at the Wausau Police Department and upgrades to public transportation.
For the amount of money coming in from the state, the committee is also expecting change.
"We're actually seeing just a tiny decrease in shared revenue, tiny decrease in expenditure restraint but we are getting a little increase in transportation aids," city finance director Maryanne Groat said.
The committee will meet again to further discuss the budget next Wednesday.
