Clark County Sheriff's Office investigating Thursday morning home invasion in Owen

OWEN, Wis. (WAOW)-- The Clark County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion that took place early Thursday morning and are asking residents in the area to check security cameras they may have for footage of the suspect. 

The sheriff's office says they received a call shortly before 8:30 a.m. from a woman who lives in the 700 block of East 4th Street in Owen that reported a home invasion. 

Through interviews with detectives, the woman said a person that is 5 foot 5 inches tall with a thin build entered her residence at 1:30 Thursday morning. The victim said she could hear the suspect going through her drawers while she was in bed. 

A struggle then ensued, and the suspect tried to suffocate the woman with a pillow. Her daughter heard the struggle, came into the bedroom and the suspect then fled from the residence. 

The sheriff's office says the  investigation is ongoing and active. More information will be passed on to the public when it's available. 

They're asking people in the area to review any security camera footage they may have, and report any suspicious activity they may have seen in the 700 block of East. 4th Street.
