Packers v Vikings 4

MGN

(WAOW) -- The Green Bay Packers look to bury divisional rival Minnesota Vikings Sunday on the road. Going to head to head for the first time in 2021, both clubs could use this one, with the Pack angling for the No. 1 seed and the Vikings fighting for Wild-Card relevance.

1ST QUARTER:

Both teams opened up the first half with similar field goals/ Crosby completing from  54, Joseph from 51-yards out.

Minnesota gets in the red zone first, Kirk Cousins hitting Justin Jefferson on the numbers, they'll call him down at the 1-yard line on a tackle from Adrian Amos. From the 1, they run it up the middle for a 2-yard touchdown, extra point is no good.

Vikings lead 9-3.

2ND QUARTER:

Packers unable to convert in the second half, meanwhile from 3rd and 10, Minnesota's Cousins on a shotgun pass to Adam Thielen, scores their second touchdown of the game. The kick is good -- Vikings lead by 13.

Rodgers appears to be struggling with down field passes on the day. he's 0-for-3 on passes to MVS, on the 4th attempt finally hitting him deep for 39-yard gain.

But 12 gets it done late in the quarter -- with 30 seconds left Rodgers connects with Josiah Deguara in the end zone for a 25-yard touchdown pass. Packers close the Vikings lead to 6.

 3RD QUARTER:

Eight minutes in, Cousins connects with Jefferson in the end zone this time -- the Viking start of the second half with another scoring drive, Minnesota leads 23-10.

But the Packers, appearing to be more in-sync after the half, Green Bay answers with an Adams 10-yard touchdown. The Packers close the gap 17-23.

4TH QUARTER

Green Bay enters final stretch down size, but the back and forth continues.

The Packers responding with a 12 play, 94-yard drive, they run back a Rodgers-Adams connection for 18-yard to take the one point lead. Crosby makes the field goal, he's missed one on the day.

Five minutes later, 2:17 on the clock -- Minnesota looking to convert on likely their last possession of the game, Cousi8ns in pass formation will target Jefferson once again, and completes for a 23-yard touchdown to take back the lead, they'll convert the two point attempt to make it 24-31.

Packers with two time outs and a two minute warning to go, Rodgers will fire a laser to Marques Valdez Scantling for a near hail-Mary 75-yard touchdown. Crosby's kick is good, and the Packers with the tie will hand the ball back over the Vikings with 2:08 left in the final quarter.

After a defensive penalty, Green Bay hands Minnesota a first down, Cousins will go big like he's about to go home, a deep pass in intercepted by Darnell Savage, giving the  Packers the ball back as the two minute warning rolls in.

During the media timeout, the play in automatic review was deemed an incomplete pass -- Savage did NOT have control of the ball before hitting the ground. The Vikings will keep the ball through the two minute warning.

The Vikings will elect to kick with just a little over a minute left, kick is good -- Vikings take 34-31 final.
