GREEN BAY, Wis. (WAOW)-- After speculation over the past day that the Packers were going to sign former Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith, Green Bay officially announced the signing on Thursday.
The Cowboys released the fifth year linebacker on Wednesday.
Smith, the Notre Dame product was drafted by Dallas in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Through four full NFL seasons and part of the current season Smith has started 56 of 68 career games. He's recorded nine sacks and has 516 combined career tackles.
He had a career year for tackles in 2020 with 154 combined and 89 solo.
Smith was selected to the Pro-Bowl in 2019. Her will wear number nine with the Packers.
