RHINELANDER, Wis. (WAOW) -- Another round of funding is coming to Wisconsin's airports.Â
Almost $40 million will be invested into Wisconsin's 86 airports, it's part of the new infrastructure law passed in November.Â
This is the first of five rounds of funding, among those airports getting funds are Central Wisconsin in Mosinee, set to receive over $1.6 million, Neillsville Municipal, at $159 thousand, and Rhinelander Oneida County, which will receive just over one million dollars.Â
They said that the money is definitely needed, as many part of their airport are aging.Â
"The entry and exit room into the airport is approximately 23 years old, the terminal is 43 years old, our primary runway is also 43 years old, it was constructed in 1978." said Matthew Leitner, Direct of Rhinelander Oneida County Airport.Â
While he said that they are all in fine and operable condition, they could all use some maintenance and rehabilitation.Â
Leitner also said that funds have not been made available yet, and they're not sure when they're doing to use them, but they will definitely be of help.Â
