Weather a factor in Thursday morning Portage County crash that injured 11 people

UPDATED: More details have been released in to a crash Thursday morning in Portage County. 

The Portage County Sheriff's Office says shortly after 8:45 a.m. their communications center received a report of a crash with injuries involving a single vehicle. 

It was on US-10 less then a half mile east of County Highway G in the Town of Eau Pleine. 

The initial investigation reveals that a 15-passenger van was traveling west on US-10 and lost control on overpass that was ice-covered. 

The van left the roadway, overturned and came to rest in the center median. 

One occupant of the van was ejected and one was partially trapped and need to be extricated. 

There were 11 occupants in the vehicle and they were all transported to area hospitals to have their injuries treated. 

The Portage County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. 

Multiple emergency department responded to the scene, two helicopters were contacted but weren't able to respond due to weather. 

Portage County Emergency Management also assisted at the scene.

PORTAGE COUNTY, Wis. (WAOW)-- A crash in Portage County has closed a lane of Highway 10. 

The Wisconsin DOT says the left lane of Highway 10 west and eastbound near mile marker 206 will be closed for an estimated two hours. 

The nearest city is Junction City. 

No other information is available at this time.
