UPDATE: Power restored for majority of North Central Wisconsin customers

UPDATE: According to Wisconsin Public Service, majority of power outages have been fixed in north central Wisconsin.

As of 5:15 a.m. Thursday, about 1,400 customers in the area were still in the dark.


(WAOW) — Some Wisconsin households are waking up without power Thursday morning, likely due to wind.

As of 3:30 am on Thursday, Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) reports 99 outage locations impacting 7,220 customers.

At one point, over 11,000 were being impacted by outages.

The power outages mostly are out of Marathon, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida and Forest counties.

According to PowerOutage.US, over 60% of Oneida WPS customers are out of power and around 40% of Langlade customers are out of power.

There is a Wind Advisory active in Lincoln, Langlade, Marathon, Shawano, Wood, Portage, Waupaca and Waushara Counties until 9 am.

According to the National Weather Service, there are Southwest winds of 20-30 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph expected.
