VA mini-fair

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WAOW)--In Wisconsin Rapids Wednesday, the Tomah VOutpatient Clinic offered a mini-fair to area veterans to learn about benefits they're actually entitled to with clear, specific instructions.

Hoping to simplify the process, the VA brought in different support groups to bring awareness to the options available.

Groups included mental health resources, community care and care-giver support services.

The VA also stressed the importance of reaching out to county-level Veterans Service Officers for any help needed.

“Every time we have an event, we run across somebody that we can change their life,” said Wood County Veterans Service Officer, Rock Larson.

Wisconsin requires every county to have a Veterans Service Office to provide support and to help service members navigate the system.

For more information of your county's veterans service officer check out your county here.

If you were not able to attend the event the VA has a full list of service on their website.
